We programmers all get it. Staring at the computer screen hoping for the energetic icon at the bottom of the screen to start writing your application for you. What do you do to break out of the funk?
1. Get out of the [home] office. Take a break. Spend some time outside. You may find some new energy from the warm sun, if it’s out.
2. Drink some coffee, tea, water, Mountain Dew, motor oil…whatever gets you to wake up!!
3. If you have a laptop, go work somewhere else besides your normal place (outside, the coffee shop, library). Switch things up a little.

UnSpun is a cool new place to make lists. For example, make a list of political candidates and people can vote them up or down. The community decides the priority/importance/popularity of the items in the list.
One of the most popular lists right now is your “Favorite Alcoholic Beverage.” You can vote up or down certain drinks, such as Margaritas, Merlot, Gin and Tonic, Vodka, etc.

When I went away to college I was only 100 miles away from my hometown, yet I seemed detached from what was happening in the world. I didn’t know what the cool songs on the radio were anymore; I didn’t know the lingo that my younger sister was talking (I felt like the parent in the text messaging commercial with the girl that talks to her BFF jill all the time). I fell behind in my area of expertise: web design!
